I had coffee with old friends and new friends yesterday. Teachers, writers, readers… sharing a wealth of experience, concerns, dreams, tips, laughter.
And learning, of course. Even though most of the learning happening was not taking place in classes, but in nitty gritty real life. As it does.
Being able to learn and share in community with friends and colleagues, and fellow adventurers on new learning journeys makes all the difference in the world–whether the topics you care about are parenting, homeschooling, dealing with family or health issues, professional, or personal growth. It helps so much to know you aren’t alone.
Connection. Creating it, fostering it, resting in it. Warm hands wrapped around a cup of something while courageous hearts connect.
I drove home with that Girl Scout round playing in my mind:
Make new friends, keep the old,
One is silver, and the other gold.A circle is round, it has no end,
That’s how long I want to be your friend. You have one hand, I have the other.
Put them together, we have each other.
I also drove home with new ideas and a sense of support and encouragement about next steps to take on my project.
Thanks Pam S, Catriona MacPherson, @judith_starkston , @jessicaardenwrites, you made my day. Missed you Spring Warren, @eileenjane62 , @adventureswithtamsen
How do you create connection in your life?
Always learning, Lisa
